Day Trip to Georgetown, SC

Sara and I love Georgetown.  We call it our miniature Charleston.  We love South Carolina period and are proud of our very beautiful state....Click read more below....

Georgetown is such a beautiful city.  The homes and gardens are so historical and pretty.  On this day I wasn't able to get all of the photos I would have loved.  That will be the excuse for another trip and post.  This was to be a short day trip.  We had other places to go and people to see.

The day was cloudy, rainy and a little windy.  Sara and I had one thing on our mind and that was seafood.  To the River Room we went!

These snapdragons are so very pretty

Yes! Every time I see a clock tower I think of Back to the Future!
Truthfully I do like Clock Towers.

I love the fact that the dates are on the buildings

The following signs have such true sayings about us.

 White Sign
The South
The place where... 1) Tea is sweet and accents are sweeter.  2) Summer starts in April.  3) Macaroni & Cheese is a vegetable.  4) Front porches are wide and words are long.  5) Pecan pie is a staple.  6) Y'all is the only proper noun.  7) Chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy.  8) Everything is Darln'.  9) Someone's heart is always being blessed.

Black Sign
In SOUTH CAROLINA WE HAVE BEAUTIFUL PLACES & SMILING FACES.  THINK PEARLS & BOW TIES MATCH EVERYTHING.  KNOW HOSPITALITY IS AN ART.  LOOK UPON THE PALMETTO TREES & CRESCENT MOON WITH PRIDE, KNOW TAILGATING IS SERIOUS BUSINESS.  STILL COOK WITH BACON & BUTTER.  CONSIDER Y'ALL THE ONLY PROPER NOUN & KNOW THAT NOTHING COULD BE FINER THAN TO BE FROM CAROLINA!

This is sad.  Where some of the historical buildings and stores burned.
The businesses impacted are Goudelock & Co, Limp’n Janes, Doodlebugs, Zest, Buzz’s Roost, Boardwalk Markette, Harborwalk Books, Colonial Floral Fascinations, and the S.C. Maritime Museum.

You know we had to find the antiques!

I can't believe I posted this picture...ugh talk about a bad hair day..
We are wet, it is raining and so windy Our hair is everywhere.  Sara looks great but she is going to kill me because her hair is standing on top of her head.  I'm a wet duck and about to die, trying to hold back my laughter.  The elderly gentleman who was taking the picture was having a little bit of trouble with my camera. I think my battery was about to die.  He was adorable.  You can see that we were having a good time.  We had not gotten together since she and I lost our Moms.  This was a good day.

I hope you enjoyed our little mini tour of downtown Georgetown.
