A Garden Walk

Little did I know the day my Mama and I walked her gardens that it would be for the last time.
She was healthy and smiling of course, as she always was.  I had camera in hand and her yard was overflowing with blooms and color.  This wasn't unusual because it always was, but this day was different.

I felt the need to capture all of it's beauty.  She said, "Why are you taking so many pictures?"  I told her, " Mama they are just so beautiful and you know I have that blog now to share them with others."
She shook her head as if to say hurry up so I can show you the rest I want to show you.
She so enjoyed being our tour guide and we always played along with her like we were guests on a tour.  Now when I think about this it is one of the fondest memories.
Her gardens won't be the same now but I guess she may be doing some of that in Heaven.  Either way she is happy beyond belief, that I am sure of!

Come along with us for a look back into the archives as I share Mama "Dot's" Spring Garden Tour Part One:  here

I have several exciting things to share with you soon.

One of them is that this weekend I will be sharing

  1. Well I imagine both of our mothers are there together making a beautiful garden. My mom too had a green thumb and we always got a "walk round the garden" when we visited. Always something new, and my mom was always so proud of her little babies in the ground. There's something so special about being able to carry on the flowers that she started and passed on to her children. Your mother's garden is beautiful, and I'm not surprised you couldn't stop taking photos :) Taking a last tour of her garden will always be that special moment in your memories of her. Wendy x

  3. What a pretty garden, Dolly. We should always enjoy each moment with a person because we never know if it will be our last. Whenever I think of my mother I remember her in her 50's -vital and full of life and energy. It is good to remember her that way. That was a wonderful tribute to your Mom for Mother's Day- xo Diana
