Easy BBQ Ribs in the Oven

The rib lover in this household is me!  Chuck will eat them, but I absolutely love them!  There are so many ways to cook them but today I'm sharing a slow bake then grill or broil to finish them off.

These are baby back ribs.  The smallest most tender in my book, although all are good.

You know here in the South when we say BBQ/Bar-B-Que we mean a meat item cooked with BBQ sauce!  Not just anything on a grill is BBQ, not here anyway.  If you say the word it better be a fabulous big piece of meat slathered in the best BBQ sauce that can be had.

We usually say, if having steaks/hamburgers/hot dogs or chicken on the grill (basically anything on the grill without sauce) , we are having a cookout!

Ingredients

Pork Ribs of your choice
BBQ Sauce your favorite for pork (Chuck makes a fabulous one for pulled pork, but today I used a another favorite Coleman's Original Bar-B-Que Sauce)
Salt
Black Pepper
Red Pepper
Paprika
Granulated Garlic
Onion Powder
Large baking/broiling pan to hold the length of ribs or you can cut yours to fit the pan
Aluminum foil--heavy duty

Today served with Brown Wild Rice and Green Beans

Directions

Wash and pat dry your ribs

Turn and on underneath pull that white membrane that covers the entire length like skin.
If you have trouble slit on end underneath membrane and then grab tightly with a paper towel in hand and pull for easier removal

Season with the above ingredients to your liking.  Do so quite liberally on top and bottom of ribs

Wrap the ribs with heavy duty aluminum foil covering completely, but do so in a way that you will have no trouble removing when testing for tenderness or browning under broiler.

Preheat oven to 275

Place in oven and cook for 4 hours

Test to check for tenderness with a fork, it should be very tender and flakey but not falling completely off the bones.

Open up the foil from the top to broil and brown

Brush with your favorite BBQ Sauce

Put under broiler for 5-8 minutes checking constantly so as not to burn them.  Or, you may take outside to sear/brown on hot grill for a few minutes.

The weather was awful on this day so I finished mine off in oven.

Can you tell they literally fell off the bone?
I hope you enjoy yours!
We certainly did!
