Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop #91 and Memories!

Your Hostesses
and myself
Welcome you all to our Weekly Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop!  We are so glad to have you with us!

This week has been an interesting one for me. I spent some very precious time with my Mama "Dot" and I thank God for every minute. To those of you praying for her recovery she and I both thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I share with her your thoughts, wishes and prayers.

I was able to see my youngest grandson, Harrison take his first steps this week! He is so loveable and adorable. Worn out in the above photo....
Of course, I can't leave my oldest grandson, Phillip out. He is so special to me and doing well in school.  He and Harrison below in the photo taken by my niece, Beth.  She is a great photographer...

This week I am so very proud of my youngest daughter Catherine "Catie" .  She is doing so well at Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology and on their Facebook Page.
Catie (with the long hair) standing on the left in this photo styling the hair for a competition in which they came in second place.  Great job!
Congratulations my talented girl and all of your group for doing so well!

Hibiscus House has chosen a theme for the choices featured from last week.Farmgirl Friday#90
The following choices immediately made me think of a memory
*In no particular order*

 Knick of Time Blog

Printable (Antique Butter Box)
 Thanks for the memories, Angie!
The memory I have with this post is that my grandmother Cora used to make the best butter ever and sell out in the surrounding community.  I remember how pretty that butter was and the pride that she took in preparing and packaging that butter for sale.

Simple Pleasures #4:  The Bucket Bath
Thanks for the memories, Alison!
The memories I have with this post are of bathing at my Grandmother Cora's house in her kitchen where it was very warm because she had her wood burning stove full of hot fire crackling...
My family, for a little while lived in an extremely small home and we took a bath in front of a fireplace in a tin tub! We had cousins from another state who visited us and oh, the horror they told of having to take a bath in a tin tub! Hey they never forgot about it though. Memories! I have a post in the Hibiscus House Archives called
The house that has recently come to light with the timber cut away.We lived in it 54 years ago.

Thanks for the memories Kelsey!
My memories with this post are that when I married into the Ratliff Family I never knew how much money could be saved with couponing  and a little research and list making before shopping. I learned so much from them and saved so much money.  It became a way of life and at that time you could actually make money from it! Yes, you could because companies would give the value of the coupon whether or not the product sold for that much..we at times came home with over a hundred dollars in our pockets and several hundreds in products in our bags....whew those were the days!

Thanks for the memories in the making, Laurie!  You have brightened my week with your beautiful inspirational post and given me the strength to be caregiver and know that I am not alone. I especially like the part about:  God whispering, "Breathe in and abide in me."

This post I think is for memories in the making.  No matter who you are, take this New Year to enjoy and make your memories everyday. Make a conscious effort to enjoy, say a kind word, do a kind deed, make someone's day a little brighter and along the way make wonderful memories!
