Spotlight: Deborah Jean

Debbie Bosworth, on the beach

You may recall that in my last post, Farmgirl Sisterhood, that I was so excited to become a member.  This post is about one of the Farmgirl Sisters Deb.

I met Deb when I first started writing the blogs. Her blog is called Deborah Jean's Dandelion House She had such wonderful posts, so interesting. Her love for gardening, her chickens and her love for the beach.  Her husband takes the most inspiring pictures, she posts those on Scenes with Boz Saturdays.  All of those things drew me to her writings.

Some people stand out in real life, some do online also.  She is one of them.  I love her blogs and have from the very beginning.  She has turned into a wonderful friend from afar and I am thankful for that friendship. She and Heidi another Farmgirl Sister have been the reason for my interest in MaryJane Farms Sisterhood. If I had only one word to describe these two it would be Genuine.

I have provided links wherever possible for you to meet and read Deb's blogs.  It is not possible for me to include all of the stories and photos I would like to, so check it out.
She truly is a beautiful person inside and out.

Hibiscus House is proud to present our Spotlight of the week:

Deb's words:

The image above was created by a talented MaryJanesFarm employee for the MJF Beach Farmgirl blog. and I just love it! I've been writing for MJF since March 2011 as their Beach Farmgirl Blogger . I am so enjoying sharing and learning all things " farmgirl " in that forum! Stop by and visit me sometime! I would like to invite you all to the Farmgirl Connection page for MaryJanesFarm. It's a terrific place to meet more friendly and talented farmgirls, and you can learn about becoming a member of thesisterhood too! Yeah, I know it's one more stop on the internet highway of life but it's a stop worth making!

This says it all

In Her Own Words
From the minute I laid eyes on my first MaryJanesFarm magazine in a Barnes and Noble book store Three years ago I was hooked!  It didn't take long for me to discover the farmgirl chat room which I joined immediately!  Soon after I became a proud member (#1199) of the MJF Sisterhood.  Never have I *met* a more fun-loving, supportive and talented group of women.  It wasn't long before I found the farmgirl blogs which I read faithfully with each new blog post.!  At that time MaryJane had two farmgirl bloggers (City and Rural) spreading more farmgirl spirit through the others!  Then one day the Suburban Farmgirl blogger appeared and that got me to thinking, wishing, dreaming that one day, I too might write for MaryJanesFarm.  Everything about MaryJanesFarm stirred my soul right down to my farmgirl roots!  I began writing (at 47) and on a whim I submitted a story to the Keeping in Touch section of the magazine called "Make Each Day your Masterpiece".  I forgot about it for a while, then one day I received an email from Carol Hill (MaryJanes Design Diva) that they loved the story and would publish it!  I was over the moon!  I submitted another one called "A Pinin' for Pickets" and darn if they didn't publish that one too!  Me?  A writer?  With that feather in my cap I launched my personal blog Dandelion House ~creative seeds for your homemaking heart, hands and soul"  with the idea in mind of inspiring folks who make homemaking, homeschooling and homesteading their most important work!  Writing my personal blog has given me a place to share what inspires me and has opened up a world of new friendships and talent at the click of a button.

I dreamed up the MJF BEACH farmgirl blog for myself because I thought it might be a fun perspective to write from and planted the seed with MaryJane and her lovely daughter Meg.  I'll admit, I worked hard at keeping my idea fresh in their minds and wet their appetites with regular email reminders from me and plenty of beach photos!  I live in America's home town and we spend time in a tiny off-grid beach cottage every summer.  I connected so deeply with the MaryJanesFarm mission of an organic lifestyle on a farmgirl budget.  It it wasn't for MJF I wouldn't have met Dolly or Heidi and many other farmgirl sisters who are friends in sisterhood.  Dandelion House and MJFBeachfarmgirl blog!  I am blessed beyond words and just so grateful to have a little place in the world to talk to kindred spirits!  What I love the most about the Farmgirl Sisterhood and blogging and writing is that we keep each other going on the path of making our BIG and small farmgirl dreams come alive!  What could be better than that?

Are you a farmgirl at heart too?

Thanks so much Deb!
Everyone please pay Deb a visit to both of her blogs because my post can not begin to cover it all.

In fact, i found a simple frame at a thrift store awhile back, so I can frame my Farmgirl Sisterhood Certificate ;) :) Have a great weekend. 4. Dolly,
You know I love Deb too. She has been my inspiration for so many farmgirl endeavors. Farmgirl Friday is my FAVORITE blog hop. Whether or not I have something valuable to share, I ALWAYS read the links. In fact, my hubby knows to leave me alone at the laptop on Fridays, and lately- through Sundays- because it's been growing so much. lol. Deb's Dandelion House blog led me to MJF Farmgirl Sisterhood and Farmgirl Friday led me to YOU. I treasure you both. Have a great week ahead.
